[Regnum] In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a polar bear attacked a family with a child, who were rescued thanks to the help of local residents and a police officer. The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on January 5.
The department explained that the incident occurred in the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets District. The police station received a report that a polar bear had injured fishermen 40 km from the village of Nosok.
Local residents and a local police officer went to the scene of the incident on an all-terrain vehicle and snowmobiles. They scared off the bear and discovered that three people, born in 1983, 2015, and 2006, had been injured in the attack.
Residents were promptly notified of the presence of a polar bear in the Brekhov Islands area.
The injured family was taken to the village, where they received medical care. A decision is currently being made to transport one of the injured to the Dudinka District Hospital for further treatment.
