[Regnum] More than 800 cars burned during New Year's celebrations in France, BFMTV reported on January 1.
According to a preliminary police report, 813 cars burned on New Year's Eve, including 183 due to the spread of fire from neighboring buildings.
Most of these incidents were recorded in the northern and eastern regions of the country; none in Paris. The most common cause of fires was careless handling of fireworks.
On New Year's Eve in France, police recorded 386 cases of illegal fireworks use. At least two people, including a child, were seriously injured.
