Text: Following several days of consecutive US Air Force ISR operations over the Sambisa forest, the Nigerian army has commenced a ground offensive against ISWAP in the infamous stronghold. During the operations which started on December 29, multiple positions were destroyed, weapons captured and at least one terrorist was killed, ISWAP militants seemingly withdrew deeper in the forest to evade troop advancements. The offensive started on two distinct axes, from the east of Sambisa starting from Bula Bulin and south of Sambisa from the Bitta base.
