[Regnum] A storm of up to force 6 with waves up to 4.5 meters high is expected on the coast of Sochi and Sirius from December 28 to 30, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
"According to weather forecasters, a combination of hazardous weather conditions is expected from December 28, 2025, to January 1, 2026. At sea, a storm with waves up to Force 6 and waves up to 4.5 meters high is expected. Heavy winds are possible in ports," the department said.
They clarified that a storm is expected in the Magri-Vesyoloye area. Furthermore, there is a risk of tornadoes over the sea.
The day before, the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort in Sochi closed its slopes due to the risk of avalanches. A real snow storm has begun at Krasnaya Polyana. The ski slopes will not reopen until the end of the day, as additional time is needed to prepare them for skiing.
