| Eight JNIM militants were killed in IS-Sahel attack | |

Text: IS-Sahel just claimed the attack, confirming that eight JNIM militants were killed, and that IS fighters captured eight rifles and three motorcycles after overrunning a JNIM base near “Bandiaga”, likely Bandania southwest of Dori, northeast Burkina Faso.
Text: JNIM originally started this tactic of infiltrating IS-Sahel to steal weapons and ammunition, however this backfired recently as JNIM fighters started using this same tactic but against their own group, by conspiring to capture loot and kill their own leaders before defecting to IS-Sahel. This created a sense of mistrust within JNIM where fighters who are nowhere to be seen for a while or deviate slightly from their motorcycle convoys are sometimes killed on the spot. | |
