The HTS/Al Nusra conquerers are happy to get credit for getting rid of a natural competitor, at least that remnant of ISIS neither they nor Turkey could co-opt. They were going to go after them anyway, after all. Also, once they supersede the Kurds in President Trump’s affections, it will be easier to subdue them, as they’d always planned.
