[Regnum] Snow fell in parts of Saudi Arabia, including the mountains and deserts. Frost hit in some areas, leaving roads covered in ice, Arab News reported.
Snowfalls and cold rains fell in the northwestern part of the kingdom on December 17 and 18, with subzero temperatures recorded. In the capital, Riyadh, dense clouds persisted, and schools there switched to distance learning due to the inclement weather.
Forecasters explained that cold air masses accompanied by rain clouds had arrived in the region. They warned that snowfalls in the north of the country could continue in the coming days.
