Syria: US launched Operation "Hawkeye Strike" overnight in retaliation for the killing of 2 US soldiers and an interpreter near #almyra last week.
Palmyra is meant.
Around 70 suspected ISIS targets, including infrastructure and weapons storage sites, were struck in the central desert using fighter jets, helicopters and heavy artillery.

The operation is expected to continue for weeks.
