in the Fasi area of Central Darfur, threatening residents at gunpoint to pay 200 billion Sudanese pounds or face expulsion. The militia fabricated an accusation of a missing person as a pretext, initially imposing a “blood price” of 50 billion pounds. Under armed coercion, the residents managed to pay 35 billion. Soon after, another group of militia members arrived, rejecting the earlier payment and demanding the full 200 billion, while refusing to leave the area.

Behind these extortions lies a broader plan: to drive out the indigenous population and replace them with new settlers brought from Chad and the Central African Republic. This reflects a systematic policy of demographic engineering through intimidation, extortion, and forced displacement.
