[Regnum] Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Alexander Moiseyev has been awarded the highest naval rank of Admiral of the Fleet, according to information on the Russian Ministry of Defense website.
"Aleksandr Alekseevich Moiseyev, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral of the Fleet," reads the section on the ministry's website containing information on the commanders-in-chief of the branches of the Russian Armed Forces.
Moiseyev was born on April 16, 1962, in the Kaliningrad region. In 1987, he graduated from the A.S. Popov Higher Naval School of Radioelectronics in St. Petersburg. He served on nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet, holding positions ranging from combat unit engineer to missile submarine commander, submarine unit commander, and submarine force commander.
In 2003, he graduated with honors from the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy, and in 2011, with honors and a medal, from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In 2019, Moiseyev was appointed commander of the Northern Fleet, and in 2024, commander-in-chief of the Navy.
