| Saudi and Sudanese forces completed their full withdrawal from Aden |

… Yesterday, STC-aligned forces completed their takeover of all security duties within Maasheeq Palace, after ordering the remaining members of the Yemeni Presidential Protection Battalion to leave the compound.
Text: One of the commanders of this unit is Brigadier General Fadhl Ba Besh, a former Special Security Forces officer from Abyan under President Hadi. He now leads one of the STC’s special forces units in Aden. Meanwhile, the Saudi-backed NSF continues to move large troop formations from Lahij, Aden, and the Wad’iah border crossing toward Hadramawt’s Wadi and Desert Districts. What is clear is that STC checkpoints on the N4 and N5 have not attempted to block or slow this NSF mobilization. The opposite is also true: NSF checkpoints are allowing STC forces to pass. In addition, some, though not all-NSF units are seen carrying the former South Yemen flag, which is also used by the STC. Altogether, it’s becoming clear that the NSF and STC are coordinating closely to avoid direct confrontations or clashes.
Text: Saudi delegation led by Major General Dr. Mohammed Obeid bin Julaighm (Al-Qahtani), Chairman of the Special Committee on Yemen, along with Major General Falah Al-Shahrani, a senior advisor to the Saudi Joint Forces and widely regarded as the Chief of the Yemeni Forces Administration Authority, encountered security incident earlier today. According to his reporting, the Security Support Brigade (SSB) stopped the convoy of Hadramawt Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi and Dr. Al-Qahtani at the Al Saheema checkpoint (formerly under HTC’s control and fall under the tribes of Shaiban) the road to Sayoun. STC-linked security personnel at the checkpoint reportedly conducted searches and confiscated the phones of accompanying journalists, including crews from Al Hadath Al Arabiya, in what appeared to be an attempt to prevent media coverage. |
