But you can subsidize it with your tax dollars, since CAIR is a tax-deductible charity. Even if you disapprove of everything CAIR stands for, you are paying taxes, so they and their donors don't have to. Anti-Israel agitators who spread disruption at US colleges and were punished by authorities were awarded checks for $1,000 by a Muslim nonprofit, The Post has learned. The money was given to students who faced penalties for leading pro-Palestinian protests before and after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 2023, according to a bombshell report by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) and the Intelligent Advocacy Network (IAN). The cash was awarded from a “Champions of Justice Fund,” set up by the California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) as “institutional endorsement,” the report claims. Most people have no idea how organized and coordinated these "protests" are, or how often the people involved have gone through extensive training by protest professionals. There are massive quantities of money that flow through left-wing nonprofits and affiliated groups, and it is no surprise that there is an equivalent to the Palestinian "Pay to Slay" program here in the US. CAIR leaders backed many of the anti-Israel encampments. The measure said “solidarity with Palestine” is “a moral imperative and the most effective means of defending Cornell graduate workers.” The union accused Israel of killing at least 680,000 people in Gaza — some ten times more deaths than reported by the Hamas terrorist group, whose unverified figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians — and said that Cornell was implicated, connecting the university’s partnership with Israel’s Technion to the displacement of indigenous Americans. Send down all who voted for the thing for having an inadequate understanding of history, law, logic, and simple addition for someone working at a graduate level. Perhaps after they’ve repeated kindergarten a few times they’ll be ready to readdress more advanced topics. Israelis are protected as a national origin group at universities under federal civil rights law.The union has the exclusive power to represent graduate student workers at Cornell in collective bargaining. Membership in the union, including paying dues, is required of graduate student workers, with limited carve-outs. A Jewish graduate student, David Rubinstein, told Congress in September that the union had stonewalled student requests for religious exemptions. He also said that the union had purged Jewish members from its email list. Without updates from the union, Jews are denied access to its processes and the ability to weigh in. A spokesperson for Cornell distanced the university from the union and condemned antisemitism. Now there’s moral courage! One understands how the Nazis surged through the academy, back in the day.
