"Any documents signed by sleepy Joe Biden using a pen, which is about 92% of them, are now null and void and no longer valid," Trump wrote.
He explained that the use of an auto-pen is prohibited unless authorized directly by the President of the United States. According to Trump, "radical left-wing Democrats" had effectively taken Biden's presidential powers and, acting illegally, were operating an auto-pen.
"Joe Biden was not included in the process of using the auto-pen, and if he says otherwise, he will be charged with perjury," the head of the White House emphasized.
Previously, the portrait of former US President Biden in the White House was replaced with a photograph of a fountain pen. At President Trump's direction, the image of the device that draws Biden's signature on paper was hung on the wall between his two portraits, as Trump led the US administration before Biden, from 2017 to 2021.
In March, Trump announced that his predecessor's pardon orders, signed before the end of his presidential term, were invalid due to the use of facsimiles. He suggested that Biden was unaware of this.
In July, the White House launched an investigation into Biden's alleged transfer of presidential powers to unknown individuals. According to James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, at least four staffers signed documents for Biden.
Biden, who served as US President from 2021 to 2025, acknowledged in an interview with The New York Times that his pardon orders were signed using a pen. He also claimed that he made the decisions personally and had to use an automated device due to the large volume of paperwork.
