[Regnum The active Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka produced a powerful ash plume reaching an altitude of approximately seven thousand meters above sea level. The Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported this on its Telegram channel on Thursday, November 28.
The eruption occurred at 3:50 AM local time (6:50 PM Moscow time on November 27). Shiveluch is Kamchatka's northernmost active volcano and continues to be active. The volcano is 47 km from the village of Klyuchi and 440 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Earlier, it was reported that the Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka erupted with ash reaching a height of up to 2.5 km. The ash plume stretched for 108 km, posing a hazard to low-flying aircraft. Experts do not rule out further ash plumes reaching heights of up to 6 km above sea level.
On September 28, tourists in Kamchatka were warned of the danger of five volcanoes. In addition to Krasheninnikov, Bezymyanny, Klyuchevskoy, Shiveluch, Karymsky, and Kambalny volcanoes are active and potentially dangerous to humans.
