| More layoffs coming to Illinois businesses this winter and spring |

| [Peoria Journal Star] In October, 12 companies reported layoff and furlough plans affecting more than 1,500 Illinois workers. The job reductions were reported to the state as part of the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. In addition, a chemical production company submitted a supplemental layoff notice impacting over 90 Illinois workers. The layoffs span multiple industries, including transportation, manufacturing, education, and retail. Candy company to lay off 101 workers in Illinois The multinational confection company Ferrero USA, Inc. will lay off 101 workers from its Chicago plant beginning next year. The company announced plans on Oct. 8 to lay off 69 workers on Jan. 1, 2026, and three more on Jan. 1, 2027. Ferrero also submitted a supplemental WARN notice Oct. 31 that it will lay off an additional 29 Chicago employees. |
