The footage shows a militia member documenting a large number of Emirati “Spartan” armored vehicles manufactured by the Canadian-owned STREIT GROUP with production facilities in the United Arab Emirates. Long rows of these armored vehicles are seen, the same type previously supplied by the UAE during the militia’s assault on El Fasher, now reappearing once again on a new frontline. The release of this footage comes at a time when there is growing pressure inside Canada to investigate how these armored vehicles reached the militia through the UAE, especially as the Canadian Prime Minister is visiting the Emirates. Calls are increasing for him to raise the issue directly with officials in Abu Dhabi, given the documented support provided to a militia responsible for widespread violations and massacres in El Fasher. This comes as the United Nations continues its investigation into the scale and brutality of crimes committed in the city, together with global outrage sparked by Yale University’s Humanitarian Research Lab, which revealed clear blood patterns visible from satellite imagery across multiple locations in El Fasher. In parallel, Canadian media investigations have confirmed that Canadian-made rifles are also in the hands of the UAE-backed militia. Visual verification teams authenticated footage showing Sterling Cross XLCR sniper rifles being carried by Janjaweed fighters in Khartoum, Darfur, and other battlegrounds. The rifles in the videos display the company’s logo clearly, raising serious questions about how these weapons reached Sudan despite Canada’s arms embargo in force since 2004. The findings point again to re-export channels through the United Arab Emirates. Taken together, the video and the verified evidence outline a consistent pattern of ongoing Emirati support that enables the militia to continue its atrocities, including mass killings, sexual violence, disappearances, and targeted violence against communities across Sudan. These revelations further strengthen Sudan’s case before international bodies accusing the UAE of fueling the conflict and equipping the militia to carry out systematic crimes.
