[IsraelTimes] The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, has said Hezbollah has the right to rebuild itself like any other organization, and that the organization has not fired a single shot for 11 months, since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon was signed.His remarks were quoted yesterday in Lebanese media after being made during a meeting with newspaper editors in Lebanon. Berri added that Lebanon is fulfilling its commitments under the ceasefire south of the Litani River, in contrast to Israel, which is not upholding the agreement. Israel says Hezbollah is in constant violation of the ceasefire by quietly attempting to restore its capabilities near the border, leading to its repeated strikes on the terror group. Berri denied reports that Hezbollah is smuggling weapons into Lebanon by sea, land, or air. Berri is head of the Amal movement, an ally of Hezbollah that fought alongside it against Israel. |
