[Regnum] A group of armed men attempted to rob the Chanel boutique on Avenue Montaigne in central Paris by ramming the entrance with scooters. This was reported on November 15 by Le Parisien.
The robbery occurred around midday. Four attackers, armed with long guns and an axe, approached the Chanel jewelry and watch store on Yamaha TMax scooters. They used their vehicles as battering rams, attempting to break through the storefront.
Some of them wore helmets and police-style patches in an attempt to mislead those around them.
The security guard managed to lower the security grille and thwart the attempted break-in. During the incident, he suffered minor blunt force trauma and was examined by medics.
The perpetrators fled the scene on the same scooters. Police are still searching for them. No damage was caused to the store.
This isn't the first attack on the brand's boutique. On October 2, thieves used a car to ram the window of a Chanel store in Paris's 8th arrondissement and stole several bags. The thieves fled before police arrived.
