According to the statement, on November 14 at 7:30 a.m. (7:00 a.m. Moscow time), IRGC Navy rapid response units monitored an oil tanker with the trade name Talara, which flies under the flag of the Marshall Islands. The statement emphasized that the vessel's crew violated Iranian law by transporting unauthorized cargo.
After Iranian judicial authorities issued a seizure order, naval special forces intercepted and detained the vessel. The tanker was carrying 30,000 tons of petroleum products and was bound for Singapore.
The agency concluded that the operation was conducted in accordance with legal obligations and to protect Iran's national interests and resources. The cargo and the vessel itself were seized.
