| UN official for violence against women falsely claims no investigations found evidence of rape on October 7 |
| 2025-11-15 |
| [IsraelTimes] The United Nations special rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Alsalem, falsely says that there is no evidence of rape during the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. “No independent investigation found that rape took place on the 7th of October,” Alsalem writes on X. A series of investigations have found evidence that Palestinians raped Israeli women during the invasion of Israel, including a report last year by Pramila Patten, the UN’s special representative of the secretary-general on sexual violence in conflict.
