The Russian grouped army is advancing on Gulyaipolya and was able to quickly ford the Yanchur River. On the Gulyaipil direct, the defense forces repelled six Russian attacks, and on Orikhivsky, the occupiers attempted to attack Ukrainian positions five times.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the settlement in Zaporizky directly after a working trip and contacts with the commanders of the paramilitary units, who are trying to maintain defense in this area.
According to the president, he saw the soldiers of the 65th detached mechanized brigade of the 17th corps, who are defending Orikhivskyi directly, as well as the fighters of the 128th detached Georgian assault brigade, which strengthen the defense in the Stepnogirsk regions.
“We discussed in detail with the commanders what is needed in order to strengthen our positions, so as to give more forces to this important front,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that, having withdrawn further information about the situation in the areas of military operations, the defense zone, in the areas of Gulyai-Polye and Kamyansky, the formation of defenses is being fixed. Zelensky also discussed the needs of the region - from supporting the population to the loss of critical infrastructure.
“I have already emphasized the duties of the military, and I will give more resources for this directly,” the head of state emphasized.
The President announced that tomorrow he will hold a Headquarters meeting dedicated to the situation in the Zaporizhzhya region and food and defense.
