[Regnum] More than 10 solar flares have occurred over the past 24 hours. This was reported on Monday, November 10, by the press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"Flash activity—more than 10 flares occurred in the last 24 hours, including a high-scoring X event," the laboratory's Telegram channel reported.
Scientists clarified that, according to calculations, these flares will have a moderate impact on the Earth's magnetosphere on November 11. However, the geomagnetic environment remains calm.
Yesterday, scientists released a video captured by space telescopes showing the destruction of a giant solar prominence. Furthermore, the footage shows rapidly rotating plasma filaments that were screwed back into the solar surface, dragging the remains of the prominence along with them.
Earlier that day, a powerful solar flare erupted, sending plasma toward Earth. According to scientists, the main centers of solar activity that emerged in late October have aligned with the Sun-Earth line, potentially causing their maximum impact on the planet in the next 24 hours.
