[Regnum] The death toll from the car bombing in the Indian capital, New Delhi, has risen to 13, NDTV reported on November 10, citing police.
The explosion occurred in the evening near the historic Red Fort. A large number of people were present at the scene at the time of the explosion, complicating evacuation. Traffic in the area was temporarily restricted.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard are involved in the investigation. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
According to the TV channel, all the wounded were taken to the hospital. New Delhi has been placed on high alert following the explosion.
Previously, 24 people were reported injured. The Russian Embassy in India is investigating whether any Russians are among the victims.
