[Regnum] Several Siberian regions have issued storm warnings for November 10 due to snowfall, blizzards, and icy conditions. This was reported by regional environmental monitoring departments.
According to the Hydrometeorological Center, snow, blizzards, and icy conditions are forecast for the Altai Krai and the Altai Republic: winds will increase to 25 m/s, and severe icy conditions are expected on the roads.
In addition, storm winds with snowfalls and blizzards are forecast for the Kemerovo, Omsk, and Irkutsk regions, as well as in certain areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia, and Tuva.
At night, temperatures in these regions will drop below minus 20 degrees, and in the northern parts of the Irkutsk region, temperatures could reach minus 32 degrees.
On November 2, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, announced that abnormally severe frosts are forecast for the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East in the first ten days of November. He clarified that the sharp drop in temperature and the transition to winter weather in these regions will occur due to a powerful anticyclone.
On November 9, Alexander Ilyin, an expert at the Meteo forecasting center, warned of the imminent arrival of a meteorological winter in a conversation with Regnum News Agency. He said that next week in Moscow will be just as warm, but by the weekend, frosts will arrive in the capital, bringing with them the first snow.
