"A brigade made up of criminals, deserters, and cripples has no desire to fight and is surrendering en masse to the Northern Forces Group, while Brigade Commander Alexander Demchuk is trying to establish discipline with endless parades and awarding of certificates," TASS quotes a source as saying.
According to security forces, they received the brigade commander's phone number from the Ukrainians who surrendered.
In late October, Russian soldiers from the 136th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the "North" group of forces liberated the village of Tykhoye in the Kharkiv region. Some Ukrainian soldiers surrendered after reading leaflets dropped on their positions calling for an end to resistance. The rest were driven from their fortified positions and forced to flee.
