[LB] The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, where heavy fighting is taking place.
"The forces of the "Timur Special Unit" of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continue their operation in one of the important areas of the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, from the point of view of front-line logistics. Fierce battles are taking place with the Russian occupiers," the intelligence service said.
After a successful landing operation, the GUR special forces, who occupied the designated lines, broke through the ground corridor and were joined by additional special forces.
Combat operations are underway aimed at eliminating enemy attempts to expand fire influence on logistics in the GUR area of ​​responsibility.
Other special units of the Military District of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also perform combat missions in this sector, but for the safety of personnel, details of the operations are not being disclosed at this time.
"Coordinated work continues with all components of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine," the GUR added.
Recently, the GUR denied the statement of the Russian military leadership about the alleged destruction of Ukrainian landing forces in the Pokrovsk area.
Yesterday, Zelenskyy said that there are currently between 260 and 300 Russian military personnel in Pokrovsk, including the 425th separate assault regiment.
