[Regnum] Fighters from the 63rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Army are executing residents of Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This follows from radio intercepts provided to RIA Novosti by Russian security forces on August 30.
The audio recording shows a junior Ukrainian soldier telling his commander that he saw a civilian, after which he is ordered to tie him up, put him on the floor, put a machine gun to his head, and then interrogate him.
After this, the subordinate reports to the commander that he has observed a civilian “at the third post,” and the latter gives the subordinate the order to shoot the civilian.
"Militants from the 63rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are involved in numerous incidents of murder and abuse of civilians. There is clear approval of war crimes from above—from the brigade's command," a security official said.
The day before, radio intercepts emerged in which a Ukrainian soldier, call sign "Gidra," reported to his commander that he and his fellow soldiers had captured three civilians, tortured them, and killed one. The Ukrainian officer responded by ordering his subordinate to dump the dead man's body "before reaching the well."
