ceasefire-hostage deal were hustled out of a five-star Cairo hotel hours after their luxury lodgings were revealed, according to a Monday report.
The Lions of Islam were moved to a different hotel after the newspaper’s Saturday exposé that they were staying at the Renaissance Cairo Mirage, owned by the multinational Marriott hotel chain, the UK’s Daily Mail reported.
Under the terms of the ceasefire deal, Israel freed some 2,000 security prisoners, including some 250 serving life sentences for deadly terror attacks. The worst of the offenders were deported.
Of those, 154 were hosted at the Mirage, where many of them were to be found lounging by the pool, bar and buffet, the Mail reported.

The Mail said it was choosing not to name the alternative luxury hotel, which boasts an outdoor swimming pool, a wellness center equipped with hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, tennis courts and soccer pitches.

due to its relatively remote location, few tourists stay there, it said.
The freed prisoners are not permitted to leave for day trips to the center of Cairo, as was the case at the Mirage, and visitors to them are tightly controlled, according to the report.
Moshe Saville, CEO of the OneFamily charity, which supports families of terror victims, said that the Daily Mail’s reporting "reveals to the world the moral absurdity in which murderers are pampered while families are left to face an unending loss every single day."
"We are hearing from many families a deep sense of pain and humiliation, as the very murderers who destroyed their lives enjoy five-star conditions," he said.
Saville said the expectation had been that Israel and the international community "ensure that those who spilled the blood of innocent people are not rewarded, but held fully accountable for their actions."
In its Saturday report, which cited news hounds who were booked into the Renaissance Cairo Mirage, the Mail said the Lions of Islam had been spending time with relatives "who had flown to be with them" and "posing for selfies with adoring local fans."
Former prisoners seen at the hotel, according to the Mail, included Mahmoud Issa, who has been imprisoned since 1993 for his part in the abduction and murder of Border Police officer Nissim Toledano the previous year; Samir Abu Nima, serving life in jail for a 1983 Jerusalem bus bombing that killed six people including an 11-year-old child; and Muhammad Zawahra, who took part in a deadly 2024 shooting near a Jerusalem-area checkpoint.
The outlet said that the Lions of Islam will apply for permanent residency and be monitored by local security forces, and that some of them intend to move on to Qatar

The Daily Mail calculated the combined cost of all 154 deported former prisoners staying at the Renaissance Cairo Mirage, where rooms start at $200 a night, at upwards of £30,000 ($39,000) per night.
It was unclear who was footing the bill for the ex-prisoners’ stay, the Mail said Saturday, adding that Marriott did not respond to a request for comment.
