[Regnum] An object spotted in the skies over Moscow and the Moscow region in the morning hours was most likely space debris. This was stated by Sergei Bogachev, a professor at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences,in an interview with Izvestia on Monday, October 27.
"I'd say it's debris, because [the object] is actively fragmenting in flight. The green color is due to nickel," he said.
According to the scientist, this metal is present in both meteorites and man-made objects, but such an object “almost certainly” could not have reached the Earth’s surface.
On the morning of October 27, residents of Moscow and the Moscow region saw an unknown flying object in the sky, leaving a bright, fiery trail behind it. It was spotted in Istra, Fryazino, Ramenskoye, Lyubertsy, Krasnogorsk, and other cities in the Moscow region.
