[Korrespondent] The fighting for Pokrovsk has been going on for over a year.
Since August 21, control over nine settlements has been restored in this area, and another nine have been cleared of Russian sabotage groups.
The situation in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration and the Ocheretinsky sector of the Pokrovsk direction remains tense.
The Ukrainian army is conducting defensive, search-and-strike, and assault operations, inflicting significant losses on the Russian invaders. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday, October 26.
"Over the past 10 days, Ukrainian troops… have regained control of two more settlements – Kucheriv Yar and Suhetskoye… Since August 21, 2025, the situation in this area has stabilized, control has been restored over nine settlements, and another nine have been cleared of enemy sabotage groups… Ukrainian soldiers have liberated 185.6 square kilometers and cleared 243.8 square kilometers of territory in the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region," the statement reads.
It was reported that in the last ten days alone, 1,756 enemy service members and 75 pieces of equipment have been destroyed here. In just over two months, the enemy's total losses in the Ocheretin (Dobropolsky) direction are: over 15,700 personnel, 1,364 combat vehicles (including 36 tanks, 121 armored vehicles, 162 artillery systems, 5 MLRS, 447 vehicles, 592 motorcycles and ATVs, and 1 special-purpose vehicle). A total of 4,689 UAVs have also been destroyed.
As for the situation on the approaches to Pokrovsk and directly within its borders, the Russians have accumulated up to 200 enemy troops in the city, through the use of interpositional space and the penetration of small infantry groups.
"Our units' troops, who are carrying out combat missions in these areas, are conducting comprehensive operations daily to stabilize the situation... Small arms fire continues in the village, and UAV units are actively operating. Enemy attempts to advance deeper and gain a foothold in the urban area are being stopped through counter-sabotage operations," the General Staff assured.
As a reminder, Russia lost 900 soldiers killed and wounded in the 24 hours of October 25. The Russian army's total losses since the start of the full-scale invasion are approaching 1.2 million.
