Purges of the Generals in China. Li Jianping, former secretary of the Working Committee of the Communist Party of China in the Hohhot Economic and Technological Development Zone, was executed for corruption. Before his execution, Li Jianping met with close relatives.
The investigation found that the official embezzled more than 1.43 billion yuan (approximately $199 million). He received financial and material assets from others totaling 577 million yuan ($80 million), and misappropriated more than 1.05 billion yuan ($146 million) in state funds. This amounts to $426 million. The RD publishes a list of high-ranking PLA military officers prosecuted and under investigation. It is incomplete.
