[Regnum] An 11th-grade student at a secondary school in Dagestan has been arrested by court order in connection with a criminal case alleging involvement in the activities of the Islamic State (an organization banned in Russia) through TikTok communications. This was reported in court documents from October 19.
A minor schoolboy from the village of Khuchni in Dagestan was detained and subsequently arrested on suspicion of ties to and participation in a terrorist organization. According to investigators, the teenager communicated with an unidentified member of an extremist organization via TikTok. The criminal case was opened in September, and the decision to arrest the suspect took effect in early October.
The teenager's defense requested a more lenient pretrial detention, taking into account his schooling and positive personality traits. The Dagestani court rejected the appeal.

Furthermore, those recruiting adolescents often use economic tactics to lure minors into criminal activity.
