[Regnum] A yacht carrying a married couple with three children was attacked by killer whales off the coast of Portugal, resulting in the vessel sinking and the family ending up in the water. The Daily Star reported this on October 13.
The incident occurred on the night of October 10th. The yacht was sailing under the French flag. After colliding with the killer whales, the vessel sustained a hole and began to sink. The family managed to get into a lifeboat and were then picked up by a nearby fishing vessel.

The publication noted that this is not the first such incident off the coast of Portugal. Since 2020, approximately 500 killer whale attacks on ships have been recorded. In 20% of these attacks, damage was caused, and several vessels sank.
