[Regnum] The Russian Investigative Committee (IC) has opened a criminal case against blogger and Russian cuisine historian Pavel Syutkin for publishing false information on Telegram about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in Bucha. RIA Novosti reported this on October 12, citing a source.
"The criminal case against Syutkin was initiated based on his post about the Russian Armed Forces' actions in Bucha, which contained false information," the agency's source said.
On October 9, Moscow's Cheremushkinsky District Court remanded Syutkin to pretrial detention on charges of disseminating knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces. The court granted the investigators' motion and remanded him in custody for two months.
The Investigative Committee previously reported that the blogger had published fake materials on his Telegram channel about Russian military actions against Ukrainian civilians. On October 8, Syutkin was taken to the Investigative Committee's Kyiv office for investigative action.
