"At least 14 soldiers were killed and several more wounded in South Sudan after an alleged 'love triangle' dispute led to a deadly shootout," the publication said.
The incident occurred on October 6. It began with an argument between two officers, one of whom was a supporter of President Salva Kiir, and the other supported opposition leader First Vice President Riek Machar.
According to some sources, the conflict arose because the men were attracted to the same woman, although another theory is that it was a domestic dispute. During the confrontation, the officer supporting Machara opened fire on Kiira's comrade.
Security guards immediately entered the shootout, escalating the conflict. Initially, the clashes broke out at a local market, then quickly spread to checkpoints and army barracks.
