[Regnum] An unknown gunman opened fire in the central square of the German city of Giessen, injuring several people. This was reported on October 11 by the German news agency DPA, citing a police spokesperson.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 PM local time (4:10 PM Moscow time). The suspect managed to escape, and an operation to apprehend him is currently underway.
A police spokesperson also stated that there is no danger to the public. Officers have cordoned off the area near the crime scene.
According to law enforcement, the incident may be related to a bookmaker's office.
