[Korrespondent] A third of the Russian invaders' attacks are concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector. There, Ukrainian Armed Forces units are fighting in the vicinity of 17 settlements.
Since the beginning of the current day, 132 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The vast majority of these occurred in five directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its operational summary as of 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 9.
Thus, in the Severo-Slobodskoy and Kursk directions, our soldiers repelled two enemy attacks. Another battle continues.
In the South Slobodskoy direction, the enemy carried out 16 attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Stroyevka, Zapadnoye, Dolgenkoye and in the direction of Dvurechanskoye, Kolodeznoye and Bologovka.
In the Kupyansk direction, four enemy attacks were repelled near Stepnaya Novoselovka, Kupyansk, and Ivanovka. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Limansky direction, the invaders carried out nine assaults in the areas of the settlements of Pervomayskoye, Karpovka, Kolodezi, Novoselovka, and in the direction of Stavki. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Slavyansk direction, Russian units have attempted to advance eight times in the areas of Yampol, Serebryanka, Novoselovka, Vyemka, and Pereyezdnoye. One clash is currently ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out offensive operations twice in the area of ​​Chasovy Yar and Orekhovo-Vasilyevka.
In the Konstantinovsky direction, the enemy attempted 10 times to penetrate the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses in the areas of Belaya Gora, Shcherbinovka, Rusiny Yar, Poltavka and in the direction of Pleshchyivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian occupiers launched 43 assaults, attempting to dislodge our troops from their positions near the settlements of Vladimirovka, Novotoretskoye, Nikanorovka, Rodinskoye, Sukhetskoye, Novoekonomicheskoye, Mirolyubovka, Novosergeevka, Promen, Lisovka, Pokrovsk, Zvirovo, Kotlin, Udachnoye, Kotlyarovka, Gorikhovoye, and Filiya. Defense forces have already repelled 35 attacks.
In the Aleksandrovsk direction, our defenders have stopped four attacks, and seven more clashes are ongoing. The enemy is attempting to advance in the areas of the villages of Maliyevka, Komyshuvakha, and Olgovka, and in the direction of Filiya and Novoivanovka.
In the Orekhovsky direction, three attacks by the occupiers were stopped in the Stepnoye area and in the direction of Novoandrievka.
Three unsuccessful attempts to storm Ukrainian Armed Forces positions were recorded in the Dnieper direction .
As a reminder, Russia lost over 1,000 soldiers killed and wounded in the 24 hours of September 8. The total number of Russian casualties is approaching 1.2 million.
