[Regnum] A powerful solar flare occurred on the Sun, accompanied by a large plasma ejection toward Earth. This was reported on October 3 by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to scientists, visual observations indicate a large-scale event. The laboratory specified that it had been assigned a magnitude rating of M1.5.
"Based on visual observations, the event is large and, if its departure from the Sun is confirmed, should reach the planet in 2.5 days, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 5," the laboratory clarified.
Earlier, on September 29, a solar flare of the penultimate M-class intensity occurred. As a result, scientists warned of high solar activity, which could pose a threat to Earth.
