Kash Patel FIRES agent 'for gay pride flag on his desk'

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] FBI Director Kash Patel abruptly tossed out an agent in training on Wednesday for previously showing off a gay pride flag on his desk, according to a report.

The trainee had displayed the emblem while serving in a field office in California last year during President Joe Biden's administration.

Patel sent the trainee a signed letter dated October 1, claiming he had presented an improper 'political' message in the workplace while assigned in Golden State.

The termination letter cited Donald Trump's constitutional power to fire bureaucrats serving in the executive branch.

'After reviewing the facts and circumstances and considering your probationary status,' Patel's letter obtained by MSNBC reads without directly mentioning the flag.

'I have determined that you exercised poor judgment

…a damning evaluation for a career in the FBI…

with an inappropriate display of political signage in your work area during your previous assignment in the Los Angeles Field Office.'

'You are being summarily dismissed from your position as a New Agent Trainee at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and removed from the federal service.

The letter was sent to the trainee during the first day of the government shutdown, which has since caused uncertainty throughout the federal workforce. It is unclear how Patel was tipped off about a flag that was displayed on an employee's desk a year ago.

I’d put my money on a search of his social media, but that’s only a guess. But would such a photo count as a security violation, separate from suggesting an inappropriate “activist” mindset?

The Daily Mail reached out to the FBI for comment. The agency has not released a public statement on the matter to other media outlets.

According to CNN, the FBI employee was undergoing training at the agency's academy in Quantico, Virginia, when Patel sent the dismissal letter.

and has received multiple awards for service during his career.

Two longtime FBI employees told CNN that displaying a pride flag historically would not result in a dismissal from the agency. Under Patel's FBI, however, the norms are being rewritten.

Just ten days after Trump took back the White House, DOJ Pride, an LGBT employee resource group, shut down in late January. The group's closure came after the president signed an executive order looking to remove all DEI related programs from the federal bureaucracy.

Following the trainee's removal, agents across the FBI began searching through social media to purge any and all messaging that could be considered critical to Trump or his supporters.

I feel so clever, though I’m not sure it’s is the criticism of him so much as the general idea that Mr. Trump has long represented in the eyes of the Left.

Last week, Patel fired over a dozen FBI employees for kneeling in front of a DC crowd protesting the death of George Floyd. Those who bent the knee did so amid violent nationwide riots that shook the country.

Previous FBI director Christopher Wray, who tried to prosecute Trump during the 2024 election, concluded that the agents did not violate bureau policy.

Director Wray got a lot of things wrong.
