[Regnum] In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, surgeons performed an unusual operation and removed numerous foreign objects from the stomach of a 35-year-old man. According to The Times of India, doctors recovered 29 steel spoons, 19 toothbrushes, and two pens.
The man was taken to the operating room from a rehabilitation center where he had been undergoing treatment and frequently complaining of poor nutrition. He reportedly began taking spoons from the cafeteria, breaking them into pieces, and swallowing them with water.
A few days later, the man became ill and was urgently hospitalized. X-rays and CT scans revealed foreign objects in the patient's stomach, which required surgical removal.
Surgeon Shyam Kumar said the entire medical team was shocked by the amount of objects accumulated in the man's stomach.
