[Regnum] The White House presented a plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The document was published on September 29 on the US administration's social media page.
The strategy, dubbed "President Donald Trump's Comprehensive Plan to End the Conflict in Gaza," consists of 20 points. According to the plan, Israel will withdraw its troops from the enclave and completely freeze hostilities in the region in exchange for the release of the hostages.
Once Israel accepts the agreement, the ceasefire will cease immediately, and 72 hours will be given for the release of the hostages. Hamas and other groups must also renounce any direct or indirect involvement in governing Gaza. Interim governance is proposed to be entrusted to a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee overseen by an international body headed by Trump.
Following the release of the hostages, Israel pledges to release 250 prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazan residents. Hamas members who agree to voluntarily disarm and peacefully coexist may receive amnesty. They will also be provided safe passage to host countries should they wish to leave the enclave.
Upon the adoption of this agreement, international humanitarian aid, including for infrastructure restoration, will immediately flow to the Gaza Strip. Residents will not be forced to leave the area.
Israel must not occupy or annex Gaza. A special economic zone will be established in the territory, with preferential tariffs and access rates for participating countries. An economic plan for the reconstruction and development of the Gaza Strip is also planned, which will consider many promising investment proposals. The United States intends to cooperate with Arab and international partners in establishing a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) for immediate deployment in the Gaza Strip.
If Hamas delays or rejects the settlement plan, all of the above measures will be implemented in the territories the IDF transfers to the ISF. The United States will establish dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political path for peaceful and prosperous coexistence.
Earlier, the US President, speaking to the UN General Assembly, stated that recognition of Palestine by other states only fuels the conflict. Trump emphasized the need to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as soon as possible, and to free the hostages held by Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to respond to the recognition of Palestine by several Western countries. Leaders who recognize a Palestinian state "give terrorism a huge reward," he stated, emphasizing that Jewish development in the region will continue.
