[Korrespondent] Active counter-sabotage operations are currently underway in the city of Kupyansk. Civilian entry into the city is temporarily restricted.
Kupyansk is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Major Andriy Kovalev, a spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced this in a comment to Ukrinform on Sunday, September 28.
According to Kovalev, Ukrainian Armed Forces continue search-and-strike operations against Russian occupiers on the northern outskirts of the city. In Kupyansk itself, active counter-sabotage operations are currently underway, aimed at neutralizing potential threats and ensuring security. To ensure the effectiveness of these operations, entry into the city for civilians is temporarily restricted.
It was previously reported that entry to Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region was completely closed, allowing only military personnel access. Russians are constantly using artillery, mortars, and tanks in Kupyansk. The greatest threat comes from FPV drones that prey on civilians.
As a reminder, Russian troops continue to penetrate Kupyansk. They have been spotted in the city center, as well as near the Yubileiny neighborhood.
