"The earthquake's epicenter is located in Kazakhstan, 9 km southwest of Almaty. The earthquake's energy class is 7.2. Its magnitude is MPV 3.8," the statement said.
The day before, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations warned residents of the country about a recorded earthquake, emphasizing that the tremors were not felt in Almaty.
At the same time, citizens were sent messages on their phones recommending that they leave their homes.
On the morning of September 19, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The epicenter was located at a depth of 39 km, 128 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Following a powerful earthquake off the coast of the peninsula, a tsunami threat arose within 1,000 kilometers of its epicenter. Waves ranging from 1 to 3 meters above high tide were predicted along several areas of the Russian coast.
