Syrskyi announced the first results of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive in Donetsk region.
Ukrainian soldiers have successfully advanced up to 7 km in the Dobropillya direction in the Donetsk region.
During the operation in the Dobropillia sector, Ukrainian defenders managed to liberate seven settlements from the occupiers. The Russians suffered heavy losses. This was reported by Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram on Friday, September 19.
The general noted that the Ukrainian defenders' advance into the Russian defenses is between 3 and 7 kilometers.
"Control has been restored in seven populated areas, and nine have been cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups," Syrsky said.
According to him, during the operation, they managed to liberate 160 square kilometers, and another 171 square kilometers were cleared of Russian saboteurs.
During this period, Russia's losses amount to 2,456 people, including 1,322 irretrievable. The exchange fund has also been significantly replenished.
The occupiers also lost 817 pieces of weapons and military equipment. These included: 12 tanks, 37 armored combat vehicles, 162 artillery systems, 5 multiple launch rocket systems, 382 vehicles, 58 motorcycles, 1 special-purpose vehicle, and 160 UAVs.
As is known, the Ukrainian army is conducting a counteroffensive operation near Dobropillya and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that Ukrainian troops are defending positions around Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region and promised new diplomatic strikes in response to Russia's actions.
