The most active fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk area. There, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled nearly 40 Russian attacks near 15 settlements.
Since the beginning of the current day, 100 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The Russian occupation army concentrated most of its attacks on three fronts, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an operational report on Thursday, September 18.
Thus, eight military clashes occurred in the Severo-Slobodskoy and Kursk directions.
In the Yuzhno-Slobodskoy direction, three enemy attacks near Glubokoye and Vovchansk have been repelled. Another military clash continues.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian occupiers twice attempted to break through towards Kupyansk and Novoosinove.
In the Liman direction, the invading army launched eight attacks near Kolodyazevo and toward the settlements of Shandrigolovo, Stavki, and Zarechnoye. Two combat clashes are ongoing.
Three attacks have been stopped in the Seversky direction. The aggressor was active near Serebryanka and attacked toward Yampol and Vyemka. Four clashes continue.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy twice attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Aleksandro-Shultino and Belaya Gora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched 12 assaults in the areas of Shcherbinovka, Toretsk, Poltavka, and toward Pleshchyivka and Rusiny Yar. Two combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 43 attacks near the settlements of Shakhovo, Vladimirovka, Novoye Shakhovo, Lisovka, Zvirovo, Kotlino, and Udachnoye, as well as toward Cherny Liman, Rodinskoye, Pokrovsk, Novopodgorodnoye, Molodetskoye, Muravka, Novopavlovka, and Filiya. Defense forces repelled 39 assaults. Fighting is currently ongoing in seven locations.
In the Novopavlivske direction, the enemy attempted to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses near the villages of Sichnevoye, Voskresenka, Komyshuvakha, Ternovoye, Olgovka, and toward Filiya, Ivanovka, and Berezovoye. Five combat clashes are currently ongoing.
In the Orekhovo direction, the Russians attacked five times in the area of ​​the village of Kamyanskoye and in the direction of Novoandreyevka, Stepnogorsk, and Plavni.
In the Dnieper direction, the enemy twice unsuccessfully attempted to approach the positions of our defenders in the direction of the Antonovsky Bridge.
Earlier on Thursday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were conducting a counteroffensive operation near Dobropillya and the Pokrovsk region in the Donetsk region.
160 square kilometers have already been liberated, and more than 170 square kilometers have been cleared of occupiers – seven settlements in the area have been liberated, and another nine have been cleared of Russian presence.
