[Regnum] A new magnetic storm was recorded on Earth after a short break. This was reported on September 16 by the solar astronomy laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The phenomenon was recorded on the night of September 16. The magnetic storm level reached G1 (weak). Scientists noted that the impact was associated with a large coronal hole on the Sun. Because of this, geomagnetic disturbances have been lasting for the second day.
“If new circumstances do not intervene, this is exactly what the geomagnetic situation will be like for the next 2-3 days, until the Earth leaves the disturbed region of outer space,” the laboratory clarified.
On September 15, the Earth recorded the strongest magnetic storm in the last three months. According to scientists, the magnetic storm was predicted several days ago, but its strength turned out to be much higher than expected. The last time such a disturbance of the Earth's magnetosphere was observed was in early June, more than three months ago.
