The Yobe State Government on Wednesday conducted a mass burial for the victims in Babangida, the local government headquarters.

''The attack led to widespread destruction, with shops and houses set ablaze, forcing nearly all villagers to flee to Babangida,'' Abdulkarim said.
He, however, noted that residents had since returned to Mafa and that no further incidents had been reported.
The assault, which left scores dead and property destroyed, is one of the deadliest in Yobe in recent times.
