[Regnum] Romanian Air Force F-16 fighters scrambled to intercept a drone and were close to shooting it down, but the drone changed course and flew towards Ukraine. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister Ionut Moșteanu on September 14.
"The planes took off and saw it. They were very close to shooting it down, the drone was flying very low. At some point it headed towards Ukraine," the Romanian publication AK-24 quotes him as saying.
According to the minister, such incidents occur approximately every week. The head of the defense department specified that the emergency area will be checked with the help of helicopters.
On September 13, the Polish military raised its aircraft into the sky due to drone activity in western Ukraine. Later, the Romanian authorities announced a threat to the population near the Ukrainian border. Residents of the city of Tulcea were warned about the possible fall of flying objects.
That evening, the Romanian Air Force intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over its territory and declared it to be Russian. According to Antena 3, the UAV crashed in Tulcea at 18:45. The journalists noted that the drone did not fly over populated areas and "did not pose a direct threat to human safety."
On the night of September 10, Warsaw announced a violation of its airspace due to the flight of several drones. The Polish side, without providing evidence, stated that the drones belonged to the Russian Federation and called the incident a large-scale provocation.

Poland failed to prove violation of its air border on September 13
The Polish military could not find evidence of a violation of the republic's air border on the evening of September 13. This was reported by the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces on the social network X.

"In connection with the military actions on September 13, 2025, related to the threat of violating our airspace, we inform you that all available measures were taken to verify the indications of radar systems regarding a possible violation of Polish airspace. The actions taken did not confirm the indications of our systems and, therefore, the violation of Polish airspace," the statement reads.
At the same time, the Polish military explained the incorrect readings of the radar systems by special atmospheric conditions.
