Police have said they will have a huge presence in the British capital. A ''Stand Up to Racism'' counter protest is also due to meet nearby, following a highly charged summer in Britain that has seen protests over immigration and free speech. By midday tens of thousands of protesters were packed into streets south of the River Thames, before heading towards Westminster, seat of the UK parliament. Demonstrators carried the Union flag of Britain and the red and white St George’s Cross of England, while others brought American and Israeli flags and wore the MAGA hats of U.S. President Donald Trump. They chanted slogans critical of Prime Minister Keir Starmer and carried placards including some saying “send them home”. Some attendees brought children. Robinson has billed the Unite the Kingdom march as a celebration of free speech. It is also expected to mourn Charlie Kirk, the American conservative activist shot dead on Wednesday.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Elon Musk has criticised the UK Government for a 'rapidly increasing erosion of Britain' during Tommy Robinson's 'Unite the Kingdom' protest in London on Saturday. Speaking by videolink to protesters, the Tesla founder said: 'I think there's something beautiful about being British and what I see happening here is a destruction of Britain, initially a slow erosion but rapidly increasing erosion of Britain with massive uncontrolled migration. 'A failure by the government to protect innocent people including children who are getting gang-raped. 'It's unreal the government has failed in its duty to protect its citizens which is a fundamental duty of government.' The Tesla boss also railed against the 'woke mind virus' and said decisions for advancement should be on merit rather than 'discrimination on the basis of sex, or religion or any race or anything else'. He said: 'A lot of the woke stuff is actually super-racist, it's super-sexist and often it's anti-religion, but only anti-Christian, like why anti-Christian? That's unfair. 'This is why I give my message to the reasonable middle: 'Do you not want a world where there is fairness, common sense and you advance as a function of how hard you work and your talent and your integrity?'. 'That should be all that matters, the woke mind virus, that I call it, is against all that.' Elgar on a ghetto blaster. A sea of flags and tributes to Charlie Kirk. VERY rude chants about Keir. Then the bottles and fists began to fly... IAN GALLAGHER attends the 110,000-strong 'Unite the Kingdom' march in London 'Wholly unacceptable': Met Police chiefs blast anti-migrant protesters after 26 officers injured during Tommy Robinson rally - as 25 arrests are made following 150,000-strong march [Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A counter-protest organised by group Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) formed at the other end of Whitehall with 5,000 in attendance, according to official Met Police figures.
