Despite the obvious inconsistency of the insinuations coming from Warsaw, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is ready to hold consultations on this topic with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Poland in order to fully clarify what happened for all parties interested in preventing further aggravation of the situation. Rutte says drones over Poland shot down by planes of four NATO countries
On the night of September 10, aircraft from four NATO member countries shot down drones over Polish territory. This was stated by the alliance's Secretary General Mark Rutte.
"Our air defense system was activated and successfully provided protection to NATO territory. Several allies were involved, including Polish F-16s, Dutch F-35s, Italian and German aircraft and a NATO tanker," the alliance secretary general said at a briefing.
Without providing evidence, Rutte said the drones that flew into Polish airspace were Russian. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had previously said that three of the 19 drones flying over the country had been shot down.
